I don't get it. I know Israel is mentioned in the Bible but I think its more in reference to a people rather than a geographic area.
Why do some Christians seem to focus on Israel so much?
Israel is a great nation with a wonderful people, but they do not share the same religion as these Evangelical Christians. So I can't figure out what the relationship is.

Christians want peace because this means more time to bring in more believers to Christ. When Israel is opposed by many nations, who knows when everyone will be against it. I would encourage you to read the Bible to better understand Christianity. You will have a much better perception then if I were to try and explain.|||The connection between Christians and Israel is The Messiah was born in Israel. The word Christ means Messiah or Anointed one. The Prophet Isaiah wrote about Jesus Christ being born there and becoming the Passover Lamb. The Muslim only see Jesus as a Prophet and are fighting because of that reason.

|||Since Jesus, an Israelite, a Jew, is the Son of God in Christian belief as it was Jesus Christ's 'Jewish' disciples who spread Christianity many Christians naturally tend to support Israel which they regard as Holy Land.According to the Bible Israel is supposed to suffer more during the end times for they are the chosen people of God.As you know there are many who believe this as the beginning of the end times.|||The Bible documents this to be the case. Biblical predictions have been documented as coming true.|||when the jews do *something* that means the end times are coming and the return of christ is nigh.
