Dear Christian Monotheists could you please tell me what are the purposes of overseas mission, Culture exchange or to obtained knowledge from overseas churches (some information Please)? Who is/are funding the costs of overseas mission? Thanks.|||a lot of the missions i am aware of go to countries to help educate children, build schools, provide medical care, show them how to sterilize water for drinking, show them how to grow crops in drought conditions, and yes, teach them about Christianity.
they are funded by churches and other organizations which rely on private contributions.|||The evangelists of course :)|||TO EDUCATE AND HELP the poor..
our church has a sister church in Lithuanias. We help them|||The Mendicant sections of the Catholic church, which operate missions worldwide (Franciscans, Carmelites, Dominicans etc.) rely entirely upon charity to support themselves.
The purposes of these oversees missions vary, from providing medicine, education, food or even secular skills such as engineering - to preaching.|||The Purpose...save souls.
Funding...not you, that ends your concern in this matter.|||To spread the "good news", find some new suckers, and make some money for the preacher.|||Monotheistic Christian? Is that an attempt to sound educated? There's no such thing as a polytheistic Christian. If they were polytheistic, than they'd no longer be considered Christian. By definition Christianity believes in one God.|||People like me contribute to the cost. The missionaries tell other people about Jesus and how they can have a better life, not just in the next life, but now.
